Heavy Metal Removal Breakthrough
for Industrial Wastewater:
MetalFloc™ Technology

MetalFloc™ technology is now available from Wastech for efficient and cost-effective removal of ALL heavy metals from wastewater. Even the presence of metal complex or interfering agents (such as ammonia, sulfates, soaps, etc.) will not reduce the effectiveness of this chemistry.

In one pass, the MetalFloc™ chemistry will remove heavy metals below compliance levels instantaneously without a secondary pH adjustment. Sludge will be reduced, and it will be easier to dewater. Sounds too good to be true? This new technology will eliminate chrome in one step, eliminates zinc in one pass, and can take very low metal content to ppb levels.

MetalFloc™ chemical formulations surpass commodity solutions such as caustic soda, ferric chloride, ferrous sulfate, lime or acid additives for heavy metal waste treatment. These require multiple steps, generate large amounts of sludge, and have high labor costs and capital requirements. The MetalFloc™ solution is much more cost effective. Common metal grabbers and metal scavengers are also not as effective as MetalFloc™ chemistry.

If you or your clients are exceeding discharge limits for lead, zinc, copper, chrome or other heavy metals, we have a solution regardless of the volume discharged. Using the latest MetalFloc™ chemical technologies, experienced Wastech engineers will design a total system including controls, chemical usage and sludge handling. As control integrators, we provide redundant sensing, communications, monitoring and operator interfaces that are custom designed for safe, reliable, and low-cost systems.

Wastech offers packaged, skid-mounted systems for smaller discharge volumes. These provide a safe, one-pass discharge for different types of wastewater, including recycled coolant water or recycled parts washing water. Their design uses the MetalFloc chemical that encapsulates contaminants into a sturdy floc that in many cases is non-hazardous. Systems can include ozone treatment and polishing. They can be continuous or batch, automated or manual, and include either bag filters or an indexed filter bed.
