Removing Zinc or Copper
Wastech's CWT50 is a 50-gallon batch system that is designed for one-step processing using MetFloc chemicals. MetFloc will bind to 21 identified heavy metals and other suspended solids, all in one step. It is particularly good at removing cadmium, nickel, zinc and copper to bring wastewater concentrations below discharge limits. MetFloc chemicals easily mix with wastewater, producing large floc particles that won't break down under heavy mixing. The particles settle to bottom in a couple of minutes. The result is a clear water effluent on top and sludge on the bottom. The sludge is easy to dewater, unlike the sludge from traditional chemicals that requires a filter press.
Operation is easy. Once the CWT50 upper 50-gallon reaction tank is filled with wastewater, the system injects MetFloc chemicals and initiates the cycle. Following mixing, valves are opened, and the floc is captured in two easy-to-dump cloth filter bags. Treated wastewater collects in the lower 50-gallon holding tank and is pumped to the sewer with a submersible pump. A Wastech pump lift station is a recommended option to fill the CWT50.
