OMEGA™ Neutralization System
Quality & Safety Features

What do process engineers want in a waste treatment system? Lower operating costs and no NOVs (notice of violations)!  Fines, violations and bad PR are what they expect, which explains why most boards of directors hate talking about waste treatment. They also want reliability and safety, since concentrated acid and caustic waste are hazardous and present a legal liability.

You will not find another waste neutralization system with better components or as many high-end features offered as standard as Wastech's OMEGA™ waste neutralization systems. This first of two emails is on the subject presents safety-related features.

Double-contained chemical supply tanks. These are always provided by Wastech for safety and reliability. The tanks are normally custom fabricated of PP sheet, but can be modified with a carbon steel outer tank for NFPA non-flammable separation of dissimilar chemicals.

Violation protection for discharge outside of limits. If the monitoring tank pH probe ever sees anything outside of discharge limits, actuated valves recycle the waste stream for reprocessing. This fail-safe design assure that the system discharge is always within limits, thereby eliminating NOVs.

Platforms with tie-downs and welded system components. These maintain system integrity during mechanical stress, such as earthquakes. Special piping connections, such as flanged inlets and outlets, can be requested. Forklift access is standard.
Seismic Zone 4 compliance. As a California supplier, Wastech understands seismic requirements and routinely delivers seismic designs and PE-stamped drawings. Seismic documentation does not delay our projects and can be presented with the submittal package. States other than California are increasingly requiring seismic compliance.

Splash-guard double tubing over all fittings and supply lines. These provide operator safety in the event of a leak. Most other neutralization suppliers use unprotected tubing from the chemical metering pumps to the tanks, so that acid and caustic under pressure are continual operator risks.
